Tim Bell

Pte Dakin (B 1890)  had been an Engineers Labourer when he attested on 10/12/1915. He was mobilised on 22/1/1917 and posted to 5th Bttn
Percy served overseas with 1/5th  Bttn from 6/4/1917 until he was transferred to 17th Bttn on 22/4/1917.  He was captured as POW and received a GSW to R Thigh at the Spoil Bank, Ypres on 25/4/1918 and repatriated on 5/12/1918.  Percy was admitted to Grangethorpe Hosp on 13/4/1920 and posted to Depot on 13/10/1919.
Percy was discharged unfit on 14/10/1920, receiving a pension for 100% incapacity due to the GSW.
Percy died from disease on 12/2/1921, aged 31.  Buried Clayton, St Cross 18/2/1921.
