Private Nichols had been a Builders Labourer when he attested at Oldham on 14/2/1916.  His Attestation shows a 23/  number prefix, suggesting George volunteered for the 23rd Bttn under the Derby Scheme.   He joined 27th Battalion at Ashton on 15/2/1916.
George was discharged with SWB and Pension on 20/6/1916. He had a disability associated with an old operation to his rib.  A Pension review also determined TB aggravated by service.
George died from Pulmonary TB Aggravated by service & Laryngeal Exhaustion on 3/6/1920, aged 40.  He is buried in an unidentified grave at Delph Independent Chapelyard.
His Widow Mary and 5 children received a pension at Bell Yard, Delph, Saddleworth.
DC confirms cause of death.

Attached DC confirms cause of death as Pulmonary TB and Laryngael Exhaustion. Died at home, Bell Yard, Delph, Saddleworth.  His widow, Mary was present.  Occupation noted as builders labourer. Aged 40.
I'll compile the evidence and send it to IFCP.  George died of condition attrib to service.
Can someone seek a burial record (I know it will be Mack...)

George is buried in Delph Independent Chapelyard https://www.cwgc.org/find-a-cemetery/cemetery/2040309/Delph%20Independent%20Chapelyard  The specific grave cannot be identified apperently. Presumably George will receive an individual Special Memorial "Buried Elsewhere in this Cemetery"

We need to see if there is a headstone on George Nichol's grave in St Joseph's and review the condition of any inscription.

George Nichols' case for commemoration has been rejected by CWGC.  With the new goal posts the pension review is not adequate evidence of TB being aggravated by service.  This would need to be substantiated in the service record.
