L/Sgt 30511 Thomas Edward Clarke

L/Sgt Clarke (B 25/1/1892) had previously served in the Liverpool Scottish when he enlisted in the 19th KLR, 21747,  on 13/11/1914. He served at Home before transfer to 1st GB Manchesters on 28/8/1915. Thomas was promoted Cpl on 3/9/1915 and appointed L/Sgt 18/9/1915. Thomas was attached to an aeroplane factory in Peterborough and posted to 2nd GB in January 1916 and Depot on 5/2/1916.
Thomas was discharged sick from Depot on 11/7/1917. He received a Pension for Phthisis due to exposure and infection during ordinary military service.
Thomas died at his parent's home on 3/2/1918 , from Pulmonary TB and TB Memningitis. Buried L/Pool Anfield Cem 14/1103 on 6/2/1918. Reg West Derby Q1 1918 8d/624. Liverpool Anfield Cemetery 14.1103.
Parents Thomas & Emma, 176 Queens Road, Anfield, L/Pool. Pension Awarded.  Thomas had been a Ships Purser prior to enlistment.
