Private 410038 James Brennan – 11th Bn
James Brennan (Born 16/11/1898 Roman Catholic) was employed as a wool warehouseman at the Mersey Docks and Harbour Board when he attested in the army at Liverpool on 27 September 1916, aged 17.  James was mobilised for duty with 28th Battalion at Southend oon 23 February 1917.  Disembarked in France posted to 2/7th Battalion on 4 January 1918, James was transferred to 11th Battalion on 6 January.   James was admitted to 35 FA on 31 January 1918 and transferred via 1 CCS to 22 General Hosp on 05/021918
James was invalided home on 'Princess Elizabeth' and posted to 197 Depot, on 15 February 1918.  He was treated at Ontario Military Hospital, Orpington, Kent and discharged unfit on 1 May 1918. James received a pension for TB originating in France and attributed to active service.  He had 100% disability and was recommended for treatment in a sanatorium.  The pension review of 23/08/1918 found 100% disability.
James Brennan died from disease on 6 May 1919, aged 20.  He was buried in Liverpool Ford Cemetery on 12 May. RC Plot.431.

James Brennan died from pulmonary TB - attributed to service -  and toxaenemia at his parents' home and his mother was the informant.  Cotton Warehouse Labourer.

James Brennan's commemoration in the UKBOR was accepted today.  In due course he should receive a new headstone at Liverpool (Ford) Cemetery.
