Pte 19623 Valentine Rowe

Tim Bell

Pte Rowe enlisted in 21st Bttn and trained with XV Pln of D Coy. He disembarked in France and served throughout hostilities. returning Home in 1919.
Valentine died at home from Acute Broncho Pneumonia & Cardiac Failure whilst on demobilisation furlough. He is buried in Philips Park C Conc 988. Reg Chorlton 8c/1359.
Widow Margaret Ann and two sons (1906 & 08) 177 Prince St, Ardwick
A V Rowe worked for the Electricity Dept of Manchester Corporation. Valentine had been a painters labourer..
DC notes Private in 21st Bttn with illegible word in front.  Cause of death as above.

We need to see if there is a headstone on Valentine Rowe's grave in Phillip's Park and review the condition of any inscription.

Valentine Rowe's burial has been accepted at Phillips Park.

CWGC is producing a new headstone.
