Badge confusion

I have a pair of officer's collar dogs (not sure what era) that are supposed to be Manchester regiment.  They show a Sphynx with the word EGYPT underneath.  However I have also seen collar dogs with a Fleur de Lys pattern that are described as Manchester regiment.  Can anyone explain?

fleur de lys dogs were adopted post 1922
