Pte 252627 Frederick Caldwell

Tim Bell

Pte Caldwell enlisted on 6/12/1915 and served overseas with 11th Bttn after 1915.  He was discharged with a SWB for sickness, but no evident Pension on 4/7/1917.  Frederick died from (unspecified) disease on 13/3/1920.  His mother Susan received a Pension. 80 Park Ave, Fazakerley, L'Pool.

Large upright sand-stone, arched top, side pillars. PaulC has found Frederick has a clear thought provokiing inscription. 
"His king and country called him, the call was not in vain, on Britains Roll of Honour! you will find my dear son's name."
Does this mean his parents didn't want War Grave status, or perhaps he wasn't enititled to it?  Frederick Caldwell did his duty and is recognised here.

a lot of folks didnt know their relatives were entitled to war grave status,especially those who died after the war had ended,its a fine tribute for frederick
