Sgt 3089 John Baker

Tim Bell

Sgt Baker was discharged from 3rd Bttn, 1286 on 29/12/1903, having served 18yrs 19 days,including the Boer War.  He re-enlisted 16/9/1914, aged 46y 323 days.  He served at Home with 11th Bttn and was transferred to 18th Bttn as a Sgt.
John was discharged 30/7/1915. He died  on 22/4/1920, from Cancer and Asthema.
Widow Catherine and 5 children. 17 Hatton Garden, Newark, Notts. Son of Samuel.
age 53
