Samuel enlisted on 10/11/1914 and served overseas with 1/9th Bttn disembarking Gallipoli 22/6/1915. He was discharged with sickness (SWB) on 10/1/1917.
Samuel died from acute appendicitis (PIC) on 11/8/1920. Widow Alice Ann, 4 Croft St, Hooley Hill, received a Pension.
There is no evidence the cause of death was related to service.
