Pte 2470 Thomas Lowe

Tim Bell

Pte Thomas (born 1873)  enlisted for Gen Service on 12/8/1914.  He had previously served 12 yrs 49 days (1895-1907) with the 2/E Yorks 5043 including India and 3/E Lancs before that. Posted to 3rd Bttn, Thomas joined the BEF with 2nd Bttn on 14/4/1915.  He was wounded in head & R Knee & returned Home on 20/6/1915.
Thomas was discharged with a Pension & SWB on 17/2/1917, aged 42.
Thomas died on 22/12/1920 – cause not known, aged 46. Reg Chorlton Q4 1920 8c/820. Burial unknown.
Widow Hannah Maria. Son of William & Clemence Low. 106 Robert St, W Gorton.
