Pte Baker was a clerk when he enlisted in 8th Bttn on 4/3/1912.  He embarked for Egypt on 25/9/1914. GSW 4/6/1915 at Gallipoli. John was discharged with SWB & Pension 20/10/1916.
John died from Acute Appendicitis and General Peritsuitis? In Manchester Royal Infirmary on 4/1/1920.  Manchester General Cemetery Con 3036. His widow Flora did not receive a Pension. Moss House, Blackley. Also 69 Sutherland St, Harpurhey.
