enlisted 4-9-14
18th manchesters
born 29-5-1893 reddish
baptised st elizabeths church,reddish june 1893
parents joseph,henry+elizabeth Thompson
appointed L/cpl 3-6-16
wounded both legs,arm and wrist 1st july 1916,sent to southern general hospital
appointed L/Cpl 5-11-14,reverted to private at his own request 19-5-15
after recovering from wounds,he was posted to 3rd battalion humber garrison 27-9-16
demobilised from 1st manchesters 3-8-19. No pension claim
died 18-4-20
buried with his parents in gorton cemetery.C.NC.274
his widowed mother was granted a pension in 1920

Joseph received a Pension (condition not known) & died from disease.
