L/ Cpl 60515 Jim Sharples

Tim Bell

Pte Sharples enlisted on 14/3/1916 and served overseas with 2/6th Bttn from 6/2/1918.  Jim returned home on 21/4/1918 to be posted to 3rd Bttn at Ripon on 24/7/1918. He was discharged with SWB on 12/9/1918.  Jim received a Pension due to GSW L Leg and lived at 15 Derwent St, Levenshulme.  Jim had had a toe amputated in April 1918.
Jim died from TB on 29/4/1920. Son of Hannah & Sharples.  Hannah had died in 1917 and reported by Jim. 15 Nicholas St, Darwen. Jim had been a bricklayer. His NOK was an Aunt Rebecca Almond of Darwen
