Pte 1889 Hugh Thomas

Tim Bell

Pte Thomas (Born 1882) enlisted in 5th Bttn in 1905 and transferred to 3rd Bttn in 1908.  He served in MEF and BEF with 1st & 2nd Bttn and was transferred to reserve with Malaria due to service on 13/7/1919 with Pension.  He died on 23/8/1920 – cause unknown.  Wife Julia and unmarried wife & Guardian Ethel Peatfield have Pension Cards. 16 Back Derby St, Bolton.
Cause of death unknown. Hold*.

UPDATE
Hugh Thomas died from Pul TB at Townleys Hosp, Farnworth. Son of Mary Burns of 16 Back Derby St, Bolton.  Ostler Ex Army.
