Pte 31215 George Manuel

Pte Manuel was a Depot Keeper when he enlisted on 7/12/1914 aged 25 y 4m. He was Mobilised on 29/2/1916 and posted to in 26th Bttn at Altcar on 1/3/1916.  George was discharged as “Not likely to become and efficient soldier” on 4/8/1916. He had an unspecified disablement Non-attributable to service, receiving a Pension of 8/3 for 13 weeks. 
George dies from Pulmonary TB and Cardiac on 27/7/1920. He was buried at Southern Cemetery on 31 July 1920 Con 1469.  Son of Alice Ann, 18 Walnut St, Hulme. His Widow Lily Alice received no Pension as they had married after discharge. 20 Arnott St, Hulme.
Cause of death was not attributable to service.  Still a sad record for a man that did his bit.
