According to the service record he was age 30 when he attested on 26/05/1915. There is a William Smith buried at Walton Park on 12/05/1921, he died at the Pensions Hospital at Walton but was age 68.

Picked up the DC for the man buried at Walton:

William Smith
age 68
died 8 May 1921 Pension Hospital (West Derby)
of 186 Richmond Row, Liverpool
a slups(?) watchman
chronic rheumatism, cardiac failure
informant A Smith, widow of deceased

Same date of death as the pension card but presumably a coincidence? Or the card is incorrect?

No further leads.

Tim Bell

Strange coincidence or the same man, cause of death doesn't seem to be connected with service.

Would the occupation be 'ships' watchman?
