on 10th december 1914,charles was in the trenches at ypres when he was shot in the left temple by a sniper,he was never able to work again,he died on 21st january 1918,he was buried in agecroft cemetery.plot 26.grave 469,the CWGC for some reason decided to declare his grave a non war grave.
