Title: Pte Percival Charles Letten
Post by: Bob.NB on May 17, 2012, 03:54:26 PM
I have the medals (BWM/Vic & Special Constabulary Faithful Service Medal (GV)) awarded to Percival Charles Letten.
He was born in Lambeth in early 1885.
In WWI he served in the 23rd Manchester Regt (no. 53256), The Labour Corps (No. 78435) and the 11th Manchester Regt (No. 53256 again).
He married in 1927, appears to have got into financial difficulties in 1939 as he was declared bankrupt (LG 14 Feb 1939) and died in 1962.
I also have census details from 1901 and 1911 but that is all I have.
Can anyone fill in any details of his military career?
Can his date of enlistment or various transfers be deduced from his various army numbers?
Any information, or guidance on where to find more, would be most gratefully received.
Many thanks.
