Post by: sphinx on April 24, 2012, 04:45:05 PM
Hello,

Does anyone have a copy of the Japanese POW card for the above chap.

Unfortunately it should have a red line diagonally across it.

regards

Here it is.  Would you like me to try and get the Japanese translated for you?
Document MRI/3/1/18 First Battalion THE MANCHESTER REGIMENT Malaya, Thailand, Burma 1939~1945 available from the museum has him shown in the Roll of Honour as being burried at Tanbaya Burma.

Is this for a family member?  If it is I may be able to get a grave photo from my contact in the Thai, Burma Railway Centre.  There is no guarantee that they will have one with it being in Burma.

Thats wonderful, thankyou very much.

If it is not to much trouble, a translation would be appreciated.

He is not family.

I will try, I have a couple of contacts I can use, it may take a few days.
If you PM me with why you are interested in him I may still be able to get a grave photo.

Grave Photo, unfortunately it is slightly out of focus.
Please remember that this photo is the copyright of the Thai Burma Railway Centre http://www.tbrconline.com/  It is identified by the poppy in the top right corner.
