Hi Folks I'm looking for the military History for on of mums Cousins,
John Ormrod known as Jack
DOB: 26th Aug 1912
Born and Lived in Droylsden, Lancashire, England
He was possibly 5th or 9th as one of his stories was being evacuated from Dunkirk.
Lived a good life with his wife Ellen (Nellie) and Died in 1991
Unfortunately that's where the information ends as all photos and paperwork disappeared when his son Colin died a few years ago.
any help would be much appreciated

The 2nd Battalion Manchester Regiment was also evacuated via Dunkirk in 1940.
Your best bet is probably to apply to the MoD for copies of his service papers (cost £30) and then you'll have a very good idea of John Ormrod's service.
