PVT John Price 4t Manchester Regiment

I believe a great great Uncle John Price circa 1883 was serving in the 4th Manchester Regiment in 1901 based in Portland, Dorset.
I understand that the Manchester Regiment featured in the Boer War and it is lilkely that John Price would have been sent over there.
Can anybody help me obtain further on John Price and the 4th Manchesters in the Boer War.
I believe he survived the War.

The 4th Battalion in Boer War was used to supply replacements to the other regular Manchester Regiment battalions (1st, 2nd and 3rd)that served in SA
