50th Loyal Regiment

 I have a reference of a transfer in 1940 from the Manchester Regiment to 50th Loyal Regiment but I can't find any other reference as to what this regiment was. Can anyone help?

The only referance I can find is the Wiki: Loyal Regiment (North Lancashire)  ???
