Samuel Bennett 19657 21st Battalion Manchester Regiment. Was my Granddad. He has a full set of medals plus a war badge which I assume was because he was injured (had his toes blown off). I'm new to the forum so have only just started to look around. If anyone can give me any links that may be of interest, I'd be very grateful. Thanks for reading.

Hi Susi,
Samuel trained in XV Pln of D Platoon.  He's included in the photo in this link. Sadly, we don't no which man is which. https://themanchesters.org/forum/index.php?topic=4706.msg0#new.
The Silver War Badge Roll shows Samuel enlisted 04/01/1915 and was discharged unfit as a Cpl 19/08/1918, aged 28.
Samuel had disembarked in France as a Pte on 08/11/1915.
He received an Army Pension for a short period after discharge. We don't what disability this was for. Resident 62 Victoria Street, Ashton u Lyne.
Welcome to the Forum. I've moved the thread to 1914-18 to increrase visability.
