Pte 49236 John Conroy

Pte Conroy had been an Architects Draughtsman when he attested on 5/12/1915.  He was mobilised 8/12/1916 and served overseas with 22nd Bttn from 5/2/1917 to 10/10/1917. He had been in Hosp for 232 days from 11/2017, suffering Debility.
John was discharged from Depot at Preston on 30/8/1918, aged 21. He had been in Hosp for shell shock after being blown up and buried at Bullecourt on 28/3/1917. He received a pension for Neurasthenia, renewed in March 1919.
John died from disease on 6/6/1919,aged 21.

Buried at Liverpool (Yew Tree) RC Cemetery, plot 3B/126.

John Joseph Conroy, cause of death was pneumonia and shell shock. Will submit to IFCP.

John Conroy was approved for commemoration today.
