Lieutenant Norris Jubb : 5th Manchesters

This officer was one of Wilfred Owen's friends from the time they were both serving as cadets with the Artists Rifles.  Prior to enlistment he attended a technical college in Huddersfield.   He was drafted overseas in July 1916, but in December of that year was back in Southport with Owen - "recovering from a rifle-grenade injury" - which suggests an accident had taken place.   Is anything further known about this officer?    PhilipG.

The AR Roll says Pte 4731 N Jubb was commissioned 5th Bttn 31/05/1916 (LG 2/6/1916).  Nothing about wounds.  Norris Jubb had been an art teacher at Barnsley Grammar School,  lived on Dodworth Road, Barnsley and for a few years after World War 1 was resident in Uruguay. http://barnsleyartonyourdoorstep.org.uk/artists/

I have a little concern that these men may not have actually served in 5th Bttn, poss attached to another Bttn - like Wilfred Owen.

Thank you.   I note your concern and agree that the officers apparently destined for service with the 5th Manchesters were attached to other regiments/battalions  e.g. 6th Glosters in respect of Hubert Crampton on the same draft.   Owen was told he would be in the Lancs.Fus.when he was drafted overseas.   In the event he served with the Manchesters in their 2nd battalion as you will know.  Thanks again.
