8th battalion records
« on: April 03, 2023, 06:45:57 PM »
Hi, unfortunately my grandfather’s WW11 records were lost so I have his medals so I know he went to Malta and then through Italy.
I am keen to try and follow his journey through if not his personal records his battalions records.
Could anyone point me in the right direction to find anything to help me?
Thanks.

There is also a book by the late Captain Robert Bonner.
Who was an Administrator on this forum and had served
 with the Manchester Regiment.

Hi Timberman,
I have already got a copy of this book and believe it or not there was a photo of my grandfather in there! His name was Frederick John Mills. All I have from him are his medals 🎖️
I tried getting his military record but all they had was his record from the TA before the war.
I am looking to try and find out more about his journey through Italy following Malta.
Would I be able to find any details of the 8th battalion in Italy?
