3854365 Pte T Healey - Manchester Regt TA 1939
« on: October 02, 2019, 07:57:08 AM »
Hi,
I am trying to find out some information about a former member of the Manchester Regt. He is 3854365 Pte Tom Healey who initially enlisted into the Loyal Regt on the 20th Jan 1932 and served 7 years with the colours, he then joined the Manchester Regt TA. I am trying to find out his date of birth/death and if he served during WW2 (which I would imagine he did do with the TA?)

Any help or info would be appreciated,
Cheers,
Rick

Rick,
I think your best bet would be to apply for his service record.

Hi Charlie,
I am looking to do that but first I need to ascertain a date of birth and death? Also do you know if he would have received a new number on joining the Manchester Regt TA?
cheers,
Rick

Rick,
You only need his number or date of birth, not both. His date of death is what you need as it will have a bearing on how much information is released. Is he related to you? Do you know his christian name and where he was born/lived?

He was awarded the 1918-62 General Service Medal with the clasp for Palestine. On the medal roll, which is dated 29.02.1940, he was serving with 6th Bn Loyals. It therefore looks like he re-enlisted into the Loyals TA or was a recalled reservist.
