Pte 2351 Thomas Arrowsmith

Pte Arrowsmith enlisted in 3rd Bttn on 10/8/1914.  He had been employed by Manchester Corporation as a Lamp Lighter and was time expired for previous service in the Regiment. Posted to 11th Bttn on 1/10/1914, Thomas served at Gallipoli from 6/7/1915.  He returned Home on 10/2/1916.
Thomas was discharged unfit, aged 40 on 8/9/1916. He had VDH as a result service in Gallipoli. 152 Clowes St, Gorton.
Thomas died from VHD on 25/3/1919, aged 44. Reg Chorlton Q1 1919 8c/1346. Buried Southern Cem. 29/3/1919. CofE I/1340
Thomas was a widower -  Kayia Garlick 1904 . Daughter Florrie 19/6/1905. Florrieā€™s Guardian received a Pension.  Matilda Jane Garlick.  His brother Edwin received probate.

We need to see if Thomas Arrowsmith has a headstone at Southern Cemetery and review the inscription.

Thomas Arrowsmith's burial was accepted today. The Commission is in the process of producing a headstone to mark his grave.
