hiya jackie
he enlisted in the 12th manchesters and probably moved to the 19th manchesters after he recovered from his wounds and then transferred to the north staffs after his 2nd wounding.

After 1916, a soldier had no choice as to where he was posted, I assume he was wounded or ill but then posted to the north staffs
