Super picture Cliff. Thanks for sharing. I don't see Uncle Eric there but the very tall man right at the back could possibly be Uncle Walter. I'll check the FB site and have a good look at what they have. I don't suppose themonsster has managed to get to Kew for Eric's prisoner questionnaire and war record card. I hope he is ok.
I received the death certificate I requested for Edward (Eric) Higham but I have a problem with it. The informant was just entered as M. Higham (initial only) with a Levenshulme address. Stated his occupation as a locomotive driver??? Cause of death haemorrhage due to cirrhosis of the liver.
The cause of death and the address would fit. I suppose he could have worked on the railway as he'd helped build one for the Jap's!! But when I did a search for his grave the person buried with him was Mary Higham!! His wife was Margaret (Peggy). I'm still trying to work this one out as I understand Eric/Margaret divorced so he could have remarried. Still working on it.
Will update if I find anything to add.
Regards
Margaret
