Would anyone have a group photo of the 1/6th that possibly includes names & that they would be willing to post on here ??
I have looked at the photo section of this forum & found a few photos of the 1/6th but would like to be able to have a photo & be able to say -Pte Eddie Sedgwick (husband's grandfather) is in this photo - or we may be able to pick him out through family resemblance ??
Thanks
Cathy

Hi Cathy, The Platoon Photo's you see posted on here are all City Battalions/pals battalions who responded to the call to arms in a short time span after the war started. TF Battalions were not recorded the same way as they were already serving. There are plenty of pictures from annual camps but he could of only attended the 1913 summer training and Littleborough (Hollingworth Lake) in 1914 where he signed for overseas service as the war had just started; he was not attested in the summer of 1912 going by his number so he won't be in any groups before 1913. Sorry not much help. T

I've just been re-reading this forum and noted that someone earlier mentioned that they could not find any books on the 6th Battalion at Gallipoli.  There are two  which detail the 6th battalions activities and are both available from the Manchester Regiment Museum.
The first is I shall not find His equal and is the life of Brigadier-General Noel Lee of the 6th who commanded the Manchester Brigade and the second is Great Gable to Gallipoli which is based on the diary of Claude Worthington DSO also of the 6th.

The museum website is www.tameside.gov.uk/museumsgalleries/mom
