Title: 3523859 WO2 J Chorley Royal Artillery late Manchester regt
Post by: ravrick on August 11, 2008, 06:39:25 AM
Hi Guys,
I am trying to research a WO2 J Chorley who was awarded a Territorial Efficiency Medal while serving in the Royal Artillery. His number, 3523859, indicates that he enlisted initially into the Manchester Regiment. I understand that during the beginning of WW2 several infantry units, especially anti tank companies were transferred to the artillery along with some yeomanry and tank units. Does anybody have any idea when he enlisted or which unit he served with? Any help appreciated.

Thanks in advance, Rick

i can't help on your individual but to give you a little background of the changing of territorial battalions to anti-tank etc, you may want to have a look at this on the main site
