Far East POW information sought

Hello all,

I didnt realise you had a section dedicated to POW's.  My fault for not looking.

I wonder if anyone can help tell me any information on these two chaps, both prisoners of the Japanese in WW2 from the 1st Manchesters.

I notice that MonsStar seems very clued up on such matters and hope he or others can assist.
The two men are:-

3526147 Pte G.S Alliston
 
3526267 Pte A.Flemming

Hello Jack
Can you let us know what you allready know about them and your reason for wanting more information please.
All I can tell you at the moment is that the "Order Of Battle" shows Alliston as being in No 16 Platoon and Flemming in HQ Company  Headquarters.  I could not see them listed in the Roll of Honour so assume they both survived, unfortunately I do not have their POW Record Cards or Liberation Questionnaires in the ones that I have.  Perhaps themonsstar could get them next time he is in the National Archive at Kew.

All I know is that both men served in Palestine and were catured in Singapore.  Both were POW's and survived the war.

Thats all I know about them.

I would like to know what information there is on the records that MonsStar mentions at the start of this section, if thats possible?

Not Really, when he aquired them he did so on that basis.

Honesty amongst collectors and all that I suppose.

I was hoping you would be able to give me some information rather than the other way round, if you see what I mean.

Is anyone in a position to do that?
