Does anyone know whether there were any Indian (or Pakistani after partition) regiments who were fighting with or near the Manchester Regiment?

We have a project to renovate the War Memorial Lychgate in Levenshulme where we have a large Pakistani community. One of our project supporters has suggested that this information would help us to connect with the local Pakistani community - particularly in view of the planned commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the end of the 1st WW in November.

Thanks

Peter

Peter,
The 1st Bn was part of the Jullunder Brigade, 3rd (Lahore) Division prior to, and during WW1. The various Indian Regiments which fought along side the 1st Bn are listed within this link
