18th Battalion Prisoners of War Captured Guillemont 30/7/1916
« on: October 07, 2014, 06:08:27 PM »
There are @ 100 men listed from 18th Battalion who were captured at Guillemont, and held at Dulmen on 16/8/1916, arriving there from Cambrai on 8/8/1916.
See alphabetical list PA5686-5693.  Don't know if this link will work... http://grandeguerre.icrc.org/en/List/2171822/1872/5686/
There's also @ 10 men from the 16th Bttn included in these rolls and a few 19th.  As expected there are also a huge number of 2nd RSF.

That's right Mack,
I'm working on the list of 17th Bttn men captured at Trones Wood on 9th, held at Cambrai until / from 23rd July and arriving Dulmen on 16th August.  Officers and other Men wounded and receiving treatment from Germans will be excluded from these lists and possibly some others. I'll report more on the Sprottau post.

Thanks Mack,
Do you have equivalent references for the 18th Bttn men captured at Ypres in Dec 1917?  I'm trying to find more information on Alfred Ridge and think the index cards sometimes miss records.

The list is dated 16 Aug 1916, but it states that the the men arrived at Dülmen from Cambrai on 08 Aug 1916
