20th Manchesters
« on: July 21, 2013, 11:45:36 AM »
Has anyone access to the 20th Manchesters War Diary?  I am interested in the  period prior to March 1916 when Lt Col Lewis took over from Lt.Col Spencer Mitchell who had been in command since November 1915.

Thanks

Thanks Mack, just what I needed.  Siegfried Sassoon saw the 20th Manchesters  'go in' on 1.7.1916. He was watching from the Bois Francais trenches at Crawley Ridge (Siegfried Sassoon Diaries 1915-1918 p82-85).

Hi Wendy
I have a transcription of the War Diary for March 1916 as a Word document.
I will send it as a personal message.
Regards
Jim
