Edward Dean
« on: April 09, 2013, 11:29:58 PM »
Hi

I'm looking for help in finding Edward Dean's record, here is what I know:

He was born about 1887 in Manchester.
I was told his number was 9477.
He was injured, but survived WW1.
He died in 1922 at 28 Pearson street, Collyhurst in Manchester.
He was married to Emily Kay.

Thanks in advance.

Derek

Hi Derek,

A Medal Index Card is on-line showing Edward was in 2nd Battalion, Manchester Regiment.  He qualified for the 1914 Star on 30th August 1914.
Try here  http://www.themanchesters.org/2nd%20batt.htm for the Great War history of the Battalion.

Other forum members may be able to throw some further light on him.

Derek,
I think a few of the payfor sites may have the MICs and other records.  I use Ancestry.   If you only have limited searches, you can usually access this at your local library for free.
