Kingo,

Thanks for posting all of this.  The reports for the 90th Brigade are so comprehensive, they should have their own static thread.  Fantastic to have this first hand info.  I had thought copyright prevented this sort of thread and was going to suggest the Centenary Commemoration should make the War Diaries public.  I'll save the images, just in case my assumption was right!

Please keep posting these diaries everyone.  The 17th at Flers is one I'd particularly like to see...

Tim

The War diary's are in the public domain and can be accessed at the National Archives for free. They are in the process of digitizing them and once done they can be downloaded for a fee. We, as a forum are fortunate enough to have copies of them and are more than happy to do "look ups". i have started a new thread with the diary entry's for the 17th Bn at Flers.

Kingo,

Many thanks.  I live in N London, but can't make the time to go to Kew, due to too many kids.

I am planning a trip to Colindale Newspaper Museum.  Not sure if there if I am allowed take photos, but let me know if you need anything looked up.

Tim, Have you seen the new thread i have started about the 17th Bn at Flers ?. Once i know you are aware of it, I will post the 90 Brigade report of the battle. It is several pages long and most informative.

Kingo,

Yes I have read the Flers reports on the specific thread and also the plan you provided on an earlier thread.  I posted my thanks on this thread (15th Feb), so your new thread could be clean of comments.  These diaries are so important, I think they should be locked for comments - and only allow additions of new source material.

Thanks again and I now look forward seeing to the Brigade Diary.
