Hi from a New Member
« on: February 07, 2012, 07:21:10 PM »
Hi,

This is my first post on this forum and would like to say hello to the members.

I’m joining primarily because I have recently confirmed that a great uncle of mine died while serving with The Manchester’s  during WWI,  I would like to find out more about his service and the movements of his battalion. I will post details later in the relevant section.

I am a member of the British Medal Forum and have collected medals and researched the men behind them for a good few years. Mainly RN/RM and RAF though I have also looked into army records.

Although now living in the south, The Manchester Regiment has always held my interest as my family comes from Mossley. If I try hard I can remember when Ladysmith Barracks was derelict before it became a housing estate (giving my age away!).

I hope that I can contribute as well as learn something from this forum.

Regards, Steve
