Thanks for that Tony only 1 real candidate there as most are Scottish and irish regiments, one is Royal Lancaster Regiment, Pte Henry Brady 16100.  Did the lancasters recruit from the same area as the manchesters?

I know this is going off topic and I apologise, i'm finding it interesting 2 brothers born a year apart and living together would of gone to 2 different regiments.

there are only nine henry bradys in the medal rolls.
267742 h.brady was a london lad
7310 h.brady killed
5226 h.brady killed
27141 h.brady discharged 24th aug 1917,it cant be him because the photo of henry+george can only have been taken between 13th and 27th january 1918 when george was home on leave, and henry is still in his hospital blues
11652 h.brady was from ireland
131 h.brady enlisted in 1911,henry would have been too young

that leaves
S3883 h.brady
30536 h.brady
16100 h.brady

george was granted two lots of leave, the first time was in january 1917 and he was still a private

Thanks Mack,

One of them appears to be Royal Lancaster Regiment and I beleave they recruited in Bury, the other Royal Kent (so I doubt it could be that one), unfortunately both service records don't appear to exist anymore.

Thanks for dating the photograph! purely for tracing his travels what were Georges first leave dates?

Thanks every one, i'm aware this is turning into a large thread but I do appreciate it.

Great stuff, pleased to read about someone who served in the same Batt as my Grandfather 19th. His cousin was in B Company William Baillie, could have been friends / aquaintances.  I believe in France late 1915 my Grandfather joined B Company as he witnessed Baillie's death at Bronfay Farm circa Jan 21(23) 1916.

They certainly could of been, finding out about this has certainly sparked my interest on the area and the regiment.
