pension and service records

can anyone work out these records.
they seem to be full of errors.
theres a service record for, 123 herbert broomer,manchester regt[service batt]
this bloke doesnt exist in the medal rolls,theres only one herbert broomer who served in the manchesters, and he was,sgt 6843 herbert broomer,16th manchesters.
is it the same man.

Hi Mack!

The 123 has been crossed out on the first sheet and replaced with 6843

Ancestry records 17 sheets, showing him attesting to 1st City Bn, he was awarded pension in 1917 Cpl. Pd. L/Sgt 6843 Herbert Bloomer, so I think it's just a mistake  ::)
