Manchester Regiment - 7T Battalion 25th Feb 1918

I wonder if you can help me.  My Great Uncle, on his MIC is listed as discharged on the 25.2.18. and I think with a Silver Star.  Ernest Cowley, Pte. enlisted 31/12/14.  (I think the Silver Star was for injuries received??)

His discharge is listed as AO265/18   and para2a1  and ListH580/1.

He was with the Lancashire Fusiliers (Manchester Regiment??)T7, 281107

I got some info at the NA Kew last week but did not have enough time.... They suggested I look at WO123-59-17, I "think" to explain on what grounds he was discharged, but time ran out.

Can you help please.

Ernest was awarded a Silver War Badge

Silver War Badge    For retirement, or discharge due to sickness or wounds caused by war service, at home or abroad, after 4 August 1914

AO (army order) 265 gives the details of how/why a soldier would be awarded a SWB when being discharged due to bad health, sickness or wounds, paragraph A 1 says (roughly) after service abroad through ill health or disablement

He was in the Lancashire Fusiliers, which is a different regiment to the Manchester Regiment
