Discovery Day brings museums to life

THE Museum of the Manchester Regiment and the Setantii museum will literally come to life next week (Wednesday August 4) for Tameside’s museums and galleries annual ‘Discovery Day’.

First World War Tommies, Wellington’s Foot Soldiers, a 95th Rifleman and camp-follower as well as a French Napoleonic Soldier will all be on-hand in and around the Ashton museum to help people discover more about our military past and the Tameside and Manchester connections.

Tanks and other military vehicles will also invade the market square in Ashton, just outside the town hall, to give people a taste of military life.

Come along between 11am and 3pm for lots of fun workshops and activities, all free and no need to book. All activities are free and suitable for all ages.
For more information please contact the museum on 0161 342 2254.
