Henry Jolley ww1

 trying   to  locate   my  late   father's   regiment   during    w w 1,,,,,i   know   nothing   of   where   he  joined  up  or   which   regiment  he   was   in ,,,,,he  survived    the   war    never   to   speak   about   it ,i   think   his   army  number   was 17823     HIS   NAME   WAS     HENRY   JOLLEY  HE  LIVED  IN   WIGAN ,

Pte 17823 HENRY JOLLEY served in the Royal Lancaster Regiment.
His WW1 medal card is listed in the National Archives website.

pte 17823 henry jolley disembarked on 18th may 1915.
he died of wounds on 28-11-1916
2nd kings own royal lancasters

Bill, Do you have your father's WW1 medals? If so, could you check his service number, it should be stamped along the edge of each medal.

I  HAVE   NO  MEDAL'S,,,,DOCUMENT'S , I DON'T  THINK   DAD   BOTHERED   TO   GET   THEM ,HE   NEVER  SPOKE   ABOUT   THE   WAR,  ALL  I  KNOW HE   SERVED   AT   THE  SOMME,
