Thanks Roy,
I guess I was not making my point clear.  I thank both you and mack for that info.
What I was also interested in knowing is where all these guys served, but clearly that info must not be on the roll.  My guess would be that maybe they remained behind in Egypt when everyone went to Gallipoli or they went to India?
What do you think?

I was also intrigued to know from your previous reply why 19 men from other units, such as the example you gave from the Scottish Horse Yeomanry were included in the official 60 medals to the Manchesters.

I would have thought, he for example would be included in the Scottish Horse total and not the Manchesters?

Is there an explaination for that method of recording which I think is slighty odd.  It would really make the number of "Manchester Regt" men to receive the medal 41 rather than 60 making it an even rarer medal to find.

Were all the men on the roll Territorials?

cheers

The way I read it is, he joined the Scottish Horse before Sept 1914. Sometime later he transferred to the Manch Regt & moved overseas with them on 31/6/16 (first unit overseas).

To get the TFWM he would have to show what unit he was with in 1914?
