Mack, is it possible to post David Meadowcraft Wallwork's photo? He is one of about 15 people that I've identified that do not appear on the Irlam and Cadishead War Memorial.

Cheers
Pete

Mack, David Meadowcroft Wallwork doesn't appear on the Irlam and Cadishead War Memorial or the Parish and Town Rolls of Honour (same applies to Joseph Harold Deeley - 11th Bn, Man Regt). They are among 18 people that I've identified from the Soldiers Died in the Great War database who are not on the memorial. Some of these are on the CWGC website so I've not added them below (as I already have their details).

Based on the high number of people on the memorial that served in the Manchester Regiment (at least 36 from 137 people listed) I'm assuming that some of the missing listed below were also from the regiment. Is there any way of checking? In addition, have you any idea why they weren't put on the memorial?

Cheers
Pete

Not on CWGC
James Arthur Johnson (born Manchester resided Irlam)
Richard Johnson (born Irlam resided ?)
David Platt (born Failsworth resided Cadishead)
John Frost (born Irlam resided ?)
Leonard Greenwood (born Hebden Bridge resided Irlam)
David Hammond (born Flint resided Irlam)
Albert Hampson (born Irlam resided ?)
Ernest Aldridge (born Lichfield resided Cadishead)
Harold Caldwell (born Cadishead resided Bolton)
john Chitty (born ? resided Cadishead)
Charles William Dale (born Irlam resided ?)
