theres a story,thats possibly true,that pte walter mills was to be decorated with his VC while recovering in hospital,but he died shortly before the presentation took place,so it was decided to go along with the ceremony,so they dressed him in his uniform,propped him up,and took the photo of him when he was dead.

mack   ,after his exertions on 11-DEC -1917 he died being carried to a medical station, after being gassed .
