The 3rd Ypres must have been horrendous. They must also have felt the great contrast between the mud and cold and then the heat and mountains of Italy - with the pleasant interlude of travelling as described in the book.

Hi Mack
I have visited the museum and would now like to see the memorials in Urmston which you mentioned some time ago.
I have been in touch with Rev Christopher Brown and he has told me that one memorial is in the porch of St Clements Church.
I am wondering whether you could tell me where the Urmston/Flixton Boy Scouts Memorial is as the information on the internet is not clear.
