Miss Florence Wroe, Manchester WW1 Nurse
« on: December 27, 2008, 07:24:53 PM »
Hi all,
realise this isnt strictly forum stuff, but it may be of interest to some of you.
The certificates were found on a junk stall on Greymare Lane market Manchester a few years ago, probably removed from decent frames.
I've done a bit of research into Miss Wroe but not come up with anything except confirmation from the Red Cross of her service, they have no personal info on her.
Im quite happy to pass the certs on to any forum member with knowledge or interest in this side of WW1
regards
tobo

Hi Tobo
That's a very kind offer and someone will give them a good home I'm sure.
It's a bit thin on the ground at the moment, there will be a lot more people about in a day or two ;D

Had a look on the MIC at Ancestry, out of a 199 Wroe, 30 of them are in the Manchester Regiment.
Also found this one, I think it's your Miss Wroe ???

Description   Medal card of Wroe, Florence Emma
Corps   Regiment No   Rank
Territorial Force Nursing Service      Sister

Date   1914-1920
Catalogue reference   WO 372/23

The link if someone can down load it please.
