Military History Month

Tameside Local Studies and Archive Centre who are trustees for the Manchester Regiment archive are holding a Military History Fair within their Military History Month.
The following events will take place-
Tuesday 9th November 2 pm - Making Friends with the Archives Session- Remembrance- looking at local war memorials
Saturday 13th Military History Fair 10 am-1 pm Speaker Tim Bell on 'The Forgotten Battalion'; Medal Expert Simon Butterworth; Manchester Regiment help desk, books for sale.
Wednesday 16th 2 pm Speaker Lauren Gradwell - Hyde War Memorial Project
All events will take place at Tameside Local Studies & Archive Centre, Cotton St East, Ashton-Under-Lyne OL6 7BY
Most events will also be available on Zoom.

Hi Mack,
The talk went better than I'd expected.  Thankfully I'd bored everyone I know with dry runs, so the delivery was ok.
The audience was pretty thin on the ground but all engaged, including the regional CWGC lady.  I think we may get more interest in that avenue.
I've been asked back for a repeat with the Air Cadets in 9th Bn's former HQ.  Hopefully we'll have some new grave photos to show them.
The archives staff are great and even let my wife and dog attend.
